Charitable distribution from your IRA –
Charitable donors who have reach the age of 70½ can now transfer any amount up to $100,000 annually from a traditional IRA directly to a qualifying charity such as PATCHES, Inc. A qualified Charitable IRA Rollover provides tax savings because it counts toward your required minimum distribution, but is NOT included in your taxable income. Don’t wait! This provision has been renewed for 2008 and 2009 only. Please check with your tax advisor for professional guidance.
